Assumption University library Photo and Story by Pichaya Clayhan

As a student in the first year of Assumption University. I would like to share my visitation to Assumption
University library or known as ABAC.

The library is located in Cathedral of learning Building{CL} at Assumption University{Suvanabhumi campus}. It is
on the second floor up to the fifth floor. There are more than 500,000 books and also has online public access
catalog {Opac} with computer online in every floors.

Actually, every libraries have their own characteristic as same as here which is most of available books here are
in English because every courses are in English. Assumption University is the first international university in
Thailand. Any way, Thai books version are obtainable only on the forth floor.

On the second floor : there are depositary service, book drop, circulation counter, reserved collection, information
service, new book display ,Br. Martin’s collection {books about Thailand}, newspaper collection, research room,
foreign language books and photocopying service.

Next is my favorite floor, the third floor, consisting of foreign language books, fictions, short stories, Information
service and the high lights which is Babylon hanging garden. This garden is all around the third floor, it is a very
nice place to walk around and relax or change your place for reading in a natural environment.



On the forth floor composed of reference collection, periodical collection and bound journals, Thai language
books, Thai fictions, Thai short stories, Thai pocket –books, Thai juveniles and photocopying service.

The last floor, the fifth floor, has language lab for practicing speaking and listening skill, circulation service,
computer language lab for VCD, DVD, Video, Cable TV, Satellite, and Internet including cable TV, UBC and
video. Also, the multimedia room for entertainment is available.

        
          

The last part is banyan trees garden which was designed for a break time, having some snacks , chatting and
take a look the university from a high sight.

Finally, I would like to give some point about the library that it can’t be beneficial if the user do not see the value
and do not follow the library’s rule.
