Only time can tell...

Booknet,
launched in 1997, is the
only
distributor for south - east Asia region with 15 – 20 employees at
the first until now with 130.
We sell English books on most
subjects including reference books
to
any customers even the
wholesaler. Our idea is to make cooperation
network rather than competition.
Working with librarians is a good
advantage for book dealer because we can contact and probe the
problem together resulting mutual companionship.
However we have contact with other book store as Chula Book as well.

Any new things for Thai librarian
or customer?
We always present new catalog and we are so
proud as a representative of seven quality university press in U.S.
last year, including Princeton University Press, University of
Chicago Press, MIT Press, John Hopskin University Press, Columbia
University Press, University of California press, and Harward
University Press.
Nevertheless, we welcome any Thai works as we founded
I Group Press especially for Thai book market acting as
publisher.
This new publisher aims to print both intellectual and non-fiction
book. Besides, we have language book for foreign country as well
such as how to learn Thai language for German, Englishmen, French,
or Russian. Now we is expanding to the field of law.

How is book market in Thailand?
English textbooks are small because of the price and budget and
Thailand is at the last post in south east Asia while it is bigger
in Vietnam and Malaysia.
However we can sell more and more, thank to many librarians who keep
in trust our company and what we have done spreads like mouth to
mouth among them.
It means that we give reasonable price and keep good companionship
by that way.

What is fascinating in book business ?
The pleasure of book dealer is that it is small industry, we
know each other.
The book store is the descending business from generation to
generation.
Like people who work in one publisher can change to another
publisher as well.
So you can see few changes in this kind of career.
Only Time can tell how long they are friend even with
librarians, some know each
other since they were graduates until now they have family. That
is a cute companionship. The expertise they gained include
specialty, responsibility and
carefulness.
Book business has more detail, no mistake. Have customer
need in mind is the best thing.
